  • Dr. Michael Chism
    Dr. Michael Chism
    Optometrist

    Dr. Chism has a passion for helping people see their best. He loves helping kids and adults seeing for the first time without glasses and contacts using Ortho-K contacts. 

    Dr. Chism is certified in the use of Ortho-K contact lenses and has extensive knowledge and experience treating OrthoK on children and adults. He is certified in over 10 different Ortho-K so can find the right fit for your unique eye. 

    Outside of work, Dr. Chism loves to spend time with his wife and three kids. He speaks Spanish fluently after serving a mission for his church in Panama and traveling with his wife in South and Central America. He has a passion for scuba diving, snowboarding, and traveling. He is kind and loves to meet new people.

  • Dr. Jeff Broadhead
    Dr. Jeff Broadhead
    Optometrist

    Dr. Broadhead received his Doctor of Optometry Degree, graduating “with distinction” from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1998. A recipient of a coveted United States Air Force Health Professions Scholarship, he served for three years as Chief of Optometry at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana.  During his time at Malmstrom AFB, he was an adjunct professor of optometry for Pacific University College of Optometry and the Illinois College of Optometry. In 2000, he was named Air Force Space Command Optometrist of the Year.

    Dr. Broadhead is a member of the Utah Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and American Academy of Orthokerotology and Myopia Control.  

    Ever since his time as a business major and “pre-optometry” student at Brigham Young University, Dr. Broadhead has participated in humanitarian eye care missions to Mexico. He led two such missions as a fourth-year optometry student to Jalisco, Mexico, and continues his efforts to gather used glasses to benefit the underprivileged as a member of the Lions Club.

    Dr. Broadhead and his wife, Melanie, have resided in West Jordan since 2001.  Their large family of 11 children, most coming to them through adoption and foster care, represent children of many ethnicities.  He and his wife enjoy travelling.  Their favorite places to visit are Canada, Mexico,and Peru.

    Dr. Michael Hope joins Progressive Eye Care having received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern Arizona College of Optometry (2023).  Dr. Hope grew up in Herriman, Utah.  He graduated from Itineris Early College High School with an associates degree and received a bachelor’s in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Southern Utah University (2019).  

    He is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Utah Optometric Association (UOA), the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC), and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor’s Society.

    His professional areas of interest include glaucoma, dry eye, orthokeratology, scleral contact lenses, and diabetic eye care.  

    Dr. Hope served a mission for two years in the Dominican Republic and is fluent in Spanish. 

    He enjoys cooking or smoking new foods, spending time with his wife and daughter, hiking, and watching movies.  Dr. Hope is a big Star Wars fan.
